Hello! May I please request a condo level farmhouse? It’s located at the edges a sorta Ren-Faire vibe village, non-modern. Very cottagecore. There are three bedrooms but two are for NPC residents (parents’ bedroom & preteen brother bedroom), so you only have to focus on one: a 17 year old lady, loves gardening and the farm animals. She does self-care and schoolwork for the system. Very flowery room too, please! I hope that’s not all too much! ^^

Condo Level Farmhouse!

General Vibes: It’s very cozy, a bit run down as well but that just adds to the charm of the place. A well lived in, almost rustic space with a bit of everything sprinkled around. It’s the kind of place that feels kind of bubbly and makes you want to dance in the fields outside.

General Living Area: The general living area is a large living room, there’s a love set to the right of the couch and a recliner to the left, the place has built-in bookshelves filled with leatherback books all around the room save for the winds to the left of the furniture. To the right is a set of stairs and doorway to the kitchen. Old animal head trophies are hung around the room while pelts are used as carpets and blankets. It generally feels relaxing and communal, letting there be a thick blanket of safety coating the room. A very cottagecore, simple, and cozy room in general.

Kitchen: The kitchen is a relatively tidy spot but there always seems to be some batter or flour left out. There’s a plate of cookies on the counter that refills daily- whether or not it’s automatic or if someone makes them all but doesn’t admit it is a mystery. It’s a nice kitchen, mostly in green, browns, and off-white with green cabinets openable via copper handles and marble countertops. It feels somewhat creative but mostly encouraging and homey as if it’ll be able to lift you up somehow. It’s definitely cottage core but more bakery in terms of vibes.

Meeting Room: The meeting room is the dining room, the table is made out of spruce or a similar dark wood- a vase of flowers that never wilt, sitting in the middle and small-ish, easy to take care of houseplants hanging in the corners of the room. The table’s rectangular but set up so no one sits on the ends. The vibes in this room are similar to those in the living room but a bit more formal and talkative competitively. Definitely a bit of gardening/greenhouse aesthetic in the room.

Individual Room #1: The room is mostly green with accents of pink every once and a while. It’s a cozy place with layers of thick blankets laid across the bed and one on the desk chair. Plants are everywhere- hanging from the ceiling and on the window sills. The room has two external walls and lets lots of sunlight in. The wallpaper is painted with various flowers carefully and several blankets are embroidered with similar designs. It generally has a naturalistic, calming, and comfortable vibe making it the perfect room to relax and take things at your own pace. Aesthetically, it definitely leans into a flowery gardening type of aesthetic and just a tad away from the cottagecore- going more ren fair.

Individual Room #2: The parent’s room is pretty plain- made up mostly of creams and browns- but is still rather inviting. It’s not too large- furnished only with a carpet, king sized bed, two nightstands, clothes wardrobe, and many family pictures. It’s simple but warm and cozy, letting a calm air fill the area. Its vibes are generally simple but welcoming in its simplicity and aesthetically it’s pretty cozy minimalist.

Individual Room #3: The room’s mainly in blue and green with a twin sized bed pushed into the corner. There’s only one window in the room but it’s pretty big and lasts in a lot of natural light. The bed is unmade and has a couple of plushies laid on it. Vibe wise it’s pretty playful and somewhat competitive but definitely has room for tired relaxation. Its aesthetic is definitely a bit more modern version of cottagecore with a sprinkle of kidcore hidden throughout.

"Never use two words when one will do," "don't use a five-dollar word when a fifty-cent word will do," I'm going to turn a single sentence into an essay and it's going to cost five hundred dollars per word because those are the right words to get across what I mean without ambiguity and misunderstanding, thankyouverymuch

Thinking about murderbot being a rental unit and how that interacts with its trauma

Bc like. The most important bots it meets are all from vastly different situations and backgrounds than it. ART has been valued and loved by humans its whole life - its dad is literally the captain and its sister is one of its crew! And they clearly cherish, love, and value ART. Miki is a less sophisticated bot, but also so clearly loved and cherished. They ordered it to protect itself! And it had the capability to reject that order! That says a lot about the love, trust, and mutual respect they had for one another.

Even Three, another secunit, seems pretty different from murderbot. It was made by the company it’s working for and the vibe I got was that it and the other two secunits were sort of permanently assigned to that ship?

Which, look. Humans imprint on anything and build familiarity. The more time we spend with something the more sentimental we might get about it. If Three was on that ship for a long time, I wouldn’t be shocked if at least some of the humans on board were pretty chill or even affectionate towards it (in a condescending and dehumanizing way probably, but still). And even so, the length of time spent around the same secunits clearly allowed Three to establish bonds with its fellow secunits if nothing else!

But being a rental unit means murderbot went from group to group. The other secunits it worked with were always Temporary Company (will never see them again after this contract likely) and also Active Threats to murderbot bc they’re the most likely to notice murderbot is rogue and be forced to report it. Even the humans were Temporary, so even if there were Nice Humans they’d be swapped out with Bad Humans soon enough.

Like. No wonder it insists it doesn’t have friends. If you don’t have Feelings about people then those feelings can’t be hurt when you’re inevitably torn away and never allowed to see them again (or have your very memories of them torn out of you and erased)

(Feelings about media are okay because the media can go with you, right?)

It’s funny to point at Three when murderbot makes sweeping generalization about secunits bc it’s an unreliable narrator but also. Just having feelings about how specifically being a rental unit effects murderbot and its relationships to others

House Level Old House- wait, what was that sound?

Tw: (fake) blood, creepy/realistic eyes, unreality(?).

General Vibes: It’s generally creepy, like it literally got pulled out of a horror movie. Every floor board creeks just a bit too loud and despite it being relatively unclean certain things are almost too clean for no reason. Certain items in the house are in rooms they definitely don’t belong to but no one ever moves them. To be in the house it too feels like you’re being watched and you’re never quite sure who is who.

General Living Area: The living room’s a bit too fancy to be called a living room but a tad too casual to be called something along the lines of the main hall. The furniture is almost always going to be dirty in some way due to its age and thick coats of dust often end up thrown into the air with just a light touch. There’s an overwhelming creepy feeling as if nothing quite adds up in the room though it doesn’t tend to affect residents too much. Though, perhaps that’s just because they have that same energy surrounding them. For everything being aesthetically an old unkempt haunted mansion, the furniture is surprisingly comfortable- maybe too comfortable

Kitchen: The kitchen is never quite clean, the white tiles remain dirty no matter who cleans them. The dishes are all cracked and all fine china with rather creepy designs on them, none of them match but any attempt to separate them increases the creepy feeling of the house tenfold. Trays are left lying around and the sink’s full of dishes. Aprons are always left hanging up tidily though. The floor tiles are cracked and it’s unsafe to step inside without shoes on. Sometimes a strange smell fills the air- it’s indiscernible. The dinner table is shoved half haphazardly somewhere inside. Every morning, the table has to be cleared- even if it was done after dinner, the food never looks the same as whatever was last eaten on the plates.

Meeting Room: The study is a small room and it’s a squeeze to get everyone to fit inside. However, it rather strangely feels just old and surprisingly comfortable like a safe space from the creepy aura of the rest of the home. The desk has been pushed to a corner of a room to clear up space and several comfortable chairs moved in as well. The desk is still sometimes used though most of the drawers have been locked for a long time and people tend to sit on them. Every once and a while it feels like someone’s watching but instead of the overwhelming sensation of the rest of the house it feels more like a kindly grandfather checking in on you. It usually fades pretty fast.

Entertainment Room: The entertainment room is an older game room with what looks like a very old black and white box TV shoved somewhere inside. Inside is a poker and black jack table alongside a couple of couches. The table the tv is placed on looks like a nightstand that is gradually broken down and is definitely stolen from another room.

Individual Room #1:  An old children’s room. The wallpaper is curling and half of it seems to only be used for storage. It plays a creepy lullaby through a music box no one can turn off or break. The room is highly unsettling for adults but children don’t mind and actually feel rather protective when it’s inside. It’s mainly off-white with dull accent colors all around.

Individual Room #2: A master bedroom, it just feels empty. The bed is always made unless someone’s sleeping in it and there’s no decorations at all, just some more furniture. A dresser to the left of the bed and an empty vanity & chair on the right. It’s not exactly unsettling compared to the rest of the house but the empty feeling may cause some anxiety.

Outside: The old-house is off-white and rather worn-down. It's obvious the house is pretty large and there's only two floors. It's obvious that no one's been properly maintaining it. Vines crawl up the side almost shyly, covered in thorns. It has a covered porch and sometimes you can see what seems to be ghosts lurking in the windows.

View: On one side of the house all you can see is a valley filled with forestry, it has a notably creepy feeling to it and it’s always filled with mist and fog, you can see a wire fence and foreboding signs no less than a couple feet in. On the other side is simply a ghost town, worn down and no doubt long abandoned, graves are scattered around randomly. If you look out the attic windows all you’ll see is eyes- personally, I’d recommend closing the blinds before blinking.

Been chipping away at this in my free time - sort of a redo of a comm I did a while back. I haven't been satisfied with most of my art for almost two years straight and never felt I quite did the character design justice, so I wanted to redraw her to test out style stuff and also as a sort of thank-you to the commissioner, because another comm I did for them has been really helpful for rebuilding a following after ditching twitter. I think I'm pretty happy with the result, plus I actually enjoyed the process too which I've also been struggling with ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

I haven't heard back from the previous client the character belongs to, but I hope they see it someday and it's maybe a fun little surprise for them :')

my vet said that behind the scenes the clinic had talked about how they were happy that I was the first client of theirs to use senvelgo, because the first couple weeks on it are a bit complicated and I’m “very compliant”.
